In a cycle with anabolic androgenic protective steroids Proviron, Proviron (Mesterolon / Mesterolon) is taken:

Other well known names for this drug are Mestoranum and Provironum from Bayer, Pluriviron (Asche, Germany), Vistimon (Jenepharm, Germany) and Restore (Brown & Burke, India).Mesterolone has never been approved for distribution in the United States, despite its efficacy and safety.
How Proviron is distributed (Proviron / Mesterolone)
Proviron is widely available in human medicine markets around the world. Today it is manufactured and distributed exclusively by Bayer, although it can also be found as a product under other names and from other manufacturers. It is mainly administered as a 25mg or 50mg tablet.
Structure and characteristics of Proviron (Proviron / Mesterolone)
Mesterolone is a modified form of dihydrotestosterone. It differs by adding a methyl group at carbon 1, which helps protect the hormone from hepatic metabolism when taken orally. The same structural modification is used for Primobolan® (methenolone) oral tablets.
First-position alkylation slows first-pass hepatic metabolism of the steroid, although less so than c-17 alpha alkylation. Mesterolone is stable enough to achieve adequate blood levels, although its overall bioavailability remains much lower than that of 17-alpha alkylated oral steroids. Mesterolone also has a very strong affinity for sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). This action may allow less binding of other steroids to SHBG and their presence in an active (free) state.
Side effects (estrogen)
Mesterolone is not aromatized in the body and is not measurably estrogenic. Antiestrogens are not necessary and estrogenic side effects are unlikely.
In fact, mesterolone is thought to act as an anti-aromatase in the body, preventing or delaying the conversion of steroids to estrogen. The result is comparable to Arimidex, although weaker.Dihydrotestosterone and Masteron (2-methyl-dihydrotestosterone), for example, have been used successfully to treat breast cancer and gynecomastia due to their highly androgenic and potentially anti-estrogenic effects. It has also been suggested that nandrolone may further reduce aromatase activity in peripheral tissues, where it is more resistant to estrogen conversion (the most active site of nandrolone aromatization is the liver).
The anti-estrogenic effect of these compounds is likely due to their ability to compete with other compounds to bind to the aromatase enzyme. When it binds to steroids, an inhibitory effect is achieved because it is temporarily blocked and does not interact with other hormones.
Side effects (androgens)
Proviron (Proviron / Mesterolone) is classified as an androgenic steroid. Androgenic side effects are possible, especially at high doses. They are expressed in: oily skin, acne, facial and body hair. Men with a genetic predisposition to hair loss (androgenic alopecia) may notice accelerated baldness.
Women should be aware of the potential virilizing effects of anabolic androgenic steroids. These include changes in tone of voice, menstrual irregularities, changes in skin structure, facial hair and enlargement of the clitoris. Additionally, the enzyme 5-alpha reductase does not metabolize mesterolone, so its relative androgenicity is not affected by the use of finasteride and dutasteride.
Side effects (hepatotoxicity)
Proviron (Proviron/Mesterolone) is not a C-17 alpha alkyl anabolic steroid and is not known to have hepatotoxic effects. Liver toxicity is unlikely.
Side effects (cardiovascular)
Anabolic/androgenic steroids can adversely affect serum cholesterol. This includes a tendency to lower HDL (good) cholesterol and raise LDL (bad) cholesterol, which can shift the balance from HDL to LDL, which can increase the risk of atherosclerosis. The relative effect of anabolic/androgenic steroids on serum lipids depends on dose, route of administration (oral/injectable), type of steroid (aromatizing or non-aromatizing), and level of resistance to hepatic metabolism.
Mesterolone is a non-aromatizing oral androgen and is expected to have a serious negative effect on lipids. Studies show that taking 100 mg of mestrolone daily in men with male hypogonadism for approximately 6 months shows a significant increase in total cholesterol (18.8%) and LDL cholesterol (65.2%), accompanied by a significant reduction in HDL cholesterol (-35.7%).
Mesterolone should not be used when the history requires the exclusion of cardiovascular risk factors.
To help reduce cardiovascular fatigue, it is advisable to maintain a cardio training program and reduce the intake of saturated fat, cholesterol and simple carbohydrates at all times during AAS. It is recommended to supplement the diet with fish oil (4 grams per day) and a natural cholesterol/antioxidant such as Lipid Stabil or a product with similar ingredients.
Side effects (testosterone suppression)
Proviron has a negligible effect on gonadotropins and serum testosterone. Studies indicate that when taken in moderate doses (150mg per day or less), there is no significant suppression of testosterone levels.However, in studies with higher doses (300mg per day or more), the steroid has been reported to severely suppress serum testosterone.

Application (men)
For the treatment of androgen deficiency, Proviron is usually given as 1 tablet (25 mg) three times a day at the start of treatment. Later in the treatment, a lower dose is maintained, which is usually 1 tablet (25 mg) once or twice a day. These doses are used to support male fertility, usually in combination with other drugs such as injectable FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). The usual dose for athletes is 50-150 mg per day. The drug is usually taken for the entire 6-12 week cycle.
Many bodybuilders prefer to use Proviron while dieting in the relief or race preparation phases. This is particularly useful when anabolic steroids such as Winstrol®, Anavar or Primobolan® are used alone as their androgenic activity is quite low. Here, Proviron helps regulate the androgen to estrogen ratio in favor of androgenic potentials, which promotes even better muscle hardening, supported by an increase in libido and the tendency to burn body fat. Proviron is also used to prevent gynecomastia when using aromatizing steroids, often in combination with 10-20 mg of Nolvadex (Nolvadex) daily.
Application (women)
Proviron is not approved for use by women. This drug is not recommended for women for bodybuilding and sports purposes due to its strong androgenic nature and tendency to virilizing side effects.
Some women find that using one 25mg tablet daily is effective enough to alter hormonal balance for better muscle definition and fat burning. Intake is generally limited to 4-5 weeks to reduce the risk of developing permanent virilizing side effects. Adding a 10mg or 20mg tablet of Nolvadex can be an even more effective combination for hardening muscles and creating an environment in which the body is much more likely to burn body fat, especially in problem areas for women. , such as the hips and thighs. However, women should be very careful when taking this drug.
